This beta searches properties included in the National Housing Preservation Database's LIHTC data. It is not yet a search of every residential building. If your address does not appear, that does not mean your building has no affordability, rent-regulation, tax-benefit, or other protections.

Current scope: LIHTC properties in the NHPD-derived search index. Example: 63 Tiffany Place · New York · 11231. Pl/Place, St/Street, Ave/Avenue and similar variations are treated the same.

If your property appears in the current LIHTC data, the result can give you an early warning and a reason to start asking questions before a crisis arrives. If it does not appear, do not treat that as proof that no other housing protections apply.

Understand your status

Active, inconclusive and inactive are LIHTC database statuses — not a final legal determination about your apartment. Your building may also have other affordability or rent protections.

Verify the important dates

Do not wait for a landlord notice. Regulatory agreements, tax-credit records and other documents can tell you what protections apply and when important affordability periods may change.

Talk with your neighbors

Tenants are stronger when they understand what is happening together. An approaching or uncertain date is a reason to organize early, learn the owner's plans and ask public officials to act before a crisis.

Important scope limit: This search is currently built from LIHTC/NHPD property records. No search result is not evidence that your building has no protections. Affordable Forever is working toward broader residential-building coverage. NHPD dates and statuses can also be incomplete or estimated, and individual regulatory agreements differ. If a date matters to your housing, verify the governing documents.
