What we collect
If you submit an organizing or building-help form, we may collect your name, email address, optional phone number, your relationship to the building, an optional note, and information identifying the building you selected. The form may also automatically attach public property information such as a dataset property ID, address, LIHTC status, unit count or listed preservation date so an organizer knows which building you are contacting us about.
Why we collect it
We use submitted information to respond to your request, understand what is happening in your building, connect tenants with organizing or preservation resources, and help coordinate affordable-housing preservation work.
When information may be shared
If helping you requires another organization or person to contact you, Affordable Forever may share relevant contact information with a tenant-organizing, legal, nonprofit housing, community land trust or affordable-housing preservation partner. We will use the information for the organizing or preservation purpose you contacted us about, not for commercial sale.
What is public
The public Affordable Forever maps, building data, district dashboards and downloadable organizer lists use public property information. Names, personal email addresses, phone numbers and private notes submitted through organizing forms are not intentionally published in those public tools.
Where form submissions are processed
The current website uses Netlify Forms to receive form submissions. That means submitted information is processed and stored through Netlify's form service as part of the website's hosting workflow. If organizing contacts are moved to another system, they should remain in a private system appropriate for sensitive organizing information.
Privacy-oriented site analytics
Affordable Forever currently uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page use and website performance. Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-first and says it does not collect or use visitors' personal data, does not track individual users across its customers' sites, and does not use cookies or browser local storage to collect usage metrics. Affordable Forever does not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, form notes or tenant form submissions to this analytics service. You can read Cloudflare's current Web Analytics privacy information.
How long we keep information
We intend to keep organizing contact information only as long as it remains useful for the organizing, preservation or follow-up purpose for which it was provided. We will periodically review submissions and delete information that no longer has an active organizing, preservation or follow-up purpose rather than keeping it indefinitely by default.
Ask us to correct or delete your information
You can ask what contact information you submitted, request a correction, or ask us to delete it by emailing affordableforeverinitiative@gmail.com. Please include enough information for us to identify the submission.
Be careful with sensitive information
Please do not use the public intake forms to send Social Security numbers, financial-account information, immigration documents, medical records, passwords or other highly sensitive personal information. If an organizer or attorney needs sensitive documents later, they should arrange an appropriate secure method for sharing them.
